I had a thoroughly enjoyable Saturday morning strolling through the Delray Beach Green Market – the crowds were not too heavy, the vendors were pleasant and interesting and I made some enjoyable foodie discoveries to fill my basket …
Spices! I am thrilled by the number of Spice vendors that I am encountering at the Green Markets and on offer at the Delray Beach Green Market was a spice vendor with really unique loose tea blends as well. The smells wafting from her table were attention-grabbing – I could not resist adding some cumin and several tea blends to my bag – who could resist?
Fresh produce! The produce was gorgeous – really fresh and doing a booming business! I would have loved to take more pictures but the tables were packed … I think eggplant and a grape tomato sauce are definitely on order …
Pickles! The folks that make Happy Pickles certainly put a smile on my face beginning with their cheerful grins and then I tasted the half sour pickles and had to take them home – HAPPY!
FOOD! I made the very silly mistake of eating before I went so I have to wait until next Saturday to have some of the deliciously aromatic offerings from Taste of Africa!
EGGS! I also arrived a bit late to sample some of the Heritage Hen eggs but next week – I am ready to be first in line!
SLOW FOOD! It was great to see that Slow Food had a presence at the market -
See you there next week!
