Shrove Tuesday in the UK and other areas is Pancake Day. While the food traditions may be completely different from the Fat Tuesday eats in New Orleans, the revelry and spirit is matched!
Pancake Day Races and events are planned throughout London but the big one is the “Great Pancake Race” which starts near the Tower of London and has teams of local businesses competing for charity.
And of course, the highlight of the day is PANCAKES. Eating as many pancakes as possible with lemon and sugar and all kinds of wonderful toppings.
The Shrove Tuesday pancake is more of a crepe style than an American pancake and just as yummy!
